A lecture by the Director of Science at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Kyle Van Houtan. Since joining the Aquarium last spring, Dr. Van Houtan has developed a new science strategy to guide the Aquarium's research. In this seminar, he will share some elements of the new approach, particularly as it relates to opportunities with Hopkins Marine Station, the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, and other research groups in the region. In addition, he will share emerging stories from ongoing projects on sea otters and seabirds and how he plans to use new research capabilities at the Aquarium to reveal our ecological history.
