About

After working in the private sector as a quality control lab manager, I decided to get back into the world of research. My journey started by attending Moss Landing Marine Laboratories to earn my Master's Degree. My thesis focused on the cryptic invertebrate community associated with rhodoliths (unattached coralline algae) in the shallow coves of Catalina Island, CA. I self funded my research by working as genetic lab technician for my advisor, Dr. Jon Geller, and leading whale watching tours around Monterey Bay. After graduation, I joined the Palumbi Lab as a laboratory technician to use genetic tools to answer questions about the shark fin trade and the associated bacterial communities of corals during bleaching events.
