Dams of all scales have been the traditional answer to water resources problems. Now dam removal is a growing trend for a variety of reasons, including safety and environmental impacts. San Clemente Dam was recently removed from the Carmel River. It was the largest dam removal in California history; it is providing a full-scale, real-world laboratory for observing the intended and unintended consequences of large dam removal. Join us to learn about what this historic project is revealing about the impacts of dams and dam removal. See you there!
