Frozen secrets: Ice penetrating radar reveals hidden dynamics from Antarctic ice sheets to Europa (PUBLIC)

March 13, 2018 - 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Hopkins Marine Station, Pacific Grove

Free admission is by reservation only. Call between 8:30am - 5:00pm, Mon-Fri, or RSVP at the FOH web page: RSVP by Friday, March 9.

Ice penetrating radar is a powerful tool that can allow scientists to peer down kilometers into the solid ice. Professor Dustin Schroeder will present how this technology works and what it can teach us about the past, present, and future behavior of ice sheets and glaciers. He will also discuss how the same approaches are being adapted to explore the icy moons of Jupiter.
